Local Trucking Permits

As a benefit to the trucking industry doing commerce in Illinois, the Illinois Truck Enforcement Association provides contact info for local municipalities, townships and counties that require oversize/overweight vehicle permits.  Listed below are the local agencies with permit authority that have chosen to partner with the ITEA in providing their information.  As in all things, the information listed is only as good as the information provided.  In the event there is a discrepancy or delay in the permit process due to incorrect information being listed, the ITEA assumes no responsibility.

This is a free, voluntary program designed to foster positive relationships between the trucking industry and local units of government.  Membership with the ITEA is not required unless the local agency would like to use ITEA software to create an online permit application process.

Any local unit of government, which offers or does not offer oversize/overweight permits, and wishes to post their information on the ITEA website, must complete the Add my Agency form.

** Illinois law requires all vehicles exceeding legal weights and dimensions to possess a permit in written form. Please be advised moving without this permit on “verbal permission” only may subject your driver or company to significant enforcement fines, penalties and lost time.
